About Rainier Trinidad, CFA, CDFA
President & Portfolio Manager
Parabolic Asset Management
In 2008, while global markets were in crisis, Rainier distinguished himself by profitably steering his hedge fund clients through one of the most difficult periods in modern market history. For perspective, of the 2,800 mutual funds that Morningstar tracked in 2008, only one made money. Rainier’s fund did.
Â
More recently, he placed 18th in the U.S. Investing Championships in 2022, earning a positive return while stocks fell into a bear market. That combination of downside protection and competitive performance is at the core of how he manages portfolios today.
To serve clients at the highest level, Rainier has invested heavily in his own education and credentials. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation—often referred to as Wall Street’s hardest exam—and the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA) designation, which makes him an expert on the financial aspects of divorce. These credentials support the firm’s focus on thoughtful risk management, tax awareness, and clear, objective advice.
